About Us

Tripolia Social Service hospital, Patna is situated in Patna District, Bihar State. Which is a charitable general hospital registered under Societies registration Act 1860, having Reg. No. 39 of 1967-1968. The hospital is located adjoining the famous and ancient high architectural gateway at Tripolia.

The existence of a Christian Hospital here dates back to 1893 and it was run by Bible mission Society of great Britain. A Zanani Hospital (Womens Hospital) originated at Tripolia in 1893 under the name Duches of Teck Hospital managed by late Dr. Stillwell and team. From 1875 onwards this has functioned as a dispensary. With the increased number patients further medical facilities were added and in 1917 the Duches of Teck Hospital was ceremoniously opened by then Governor of Bihar and Orissa. The mission was closed down in 1958, eight years after India was declared a Republic.

In 1967, The Sisters of the Mercy of the Holy Cross purchased this establishment and registered it as Tripolia Social Service. The hospital in its infancy functioned as a kindergarten school. Further improvements were made in the hospital, in 1969 general out patients department started and in 1970 the Indoor patients department was opened with 40 beds mainly for maternity cases. During the past decade we have seen a steady growth of the hospital. Qradually more beds, departments and facilities were added and at present Tripolia Service Hospital has grown to 250 with well furnished Operation Theatre, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Unit, Medical Intensive care unit, well equipped Obstetrics and Gynecology department, Surgery department, Level 2 Ultrasound, medicine department, Medical Laboratory, Blood Centre, X-ray, well set up community health department, Pharmacy, and Physiotherapy. ANM ( Auxiliary Nursing MichNi ler). ) School and GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) School to train the girls and Non- formal school for the poor and underprivileged children of locality.

The Vision of Tripolia Social Service Hospital (TSSH)is to heal and comfort the suffering humanity with love, compassion and respect. The TSSH seeks to witness Christ through the healing ministry with excellence in nursing Education and Service to Humanity.

MISSION

Tripolia Social Service Hospital is owned and administered by the Sisters of the Mercy of the Holy Cross. It operates in collaboration with the entire Hospital staff, the local people, the Church, Government and other N.G.Os. Considering this healing ministry as an extension of the Mission of the Church following the example of Jesus Christ who came to show God's love and compassion for all the people.

OBJECTIVES

a. To take care of the sick irrespective of caste, creed, gender, religion, race, place of birth, language and social status.

b. To adopt an integrated approach to healing with minimum cost.

c. To help the people to help themselves to have better health.

d. To provide holistic health care to all.

e. To ensure standard in nursing education.

f. To inculcate a culture of caring while pursuing its commitment towards professional excellence in delivery of health care.

g. To adopt new technology and to utilize them with affordable cost.

h. To promote health care among the disabled, the underprivileged and the disadvantaged groups of people and to give more love and care to them.

i. To provide promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative health care.

j. To train girls in nursing education and to integrate education with service for achieving nursing excellence.

k. To develop an extensive Antenatal Clinic.

l. To help other small health centres of our region by regular visits by our Doctors and Nurses and to conduct Mobile Clinic.

m. To conduct non-formal education for the poor and underprivileged children and to run literacy programme for the idults.

n. To conduct regular health awareness programme in the villages, schools and the clinics.

o. To ensure that personnel policies provide, in a spirit of justice, for the welfare of the staff members and in turn that the staff members provide services required for the efficient functioning of the hospital.
